EAL, who are they?
At times the jargon used in the education sector can become very confusing; students on our plumbing courses often ask “Who are EAL? Are they the same as City and Guilds?” so here at the Plumbing College we thought it would help to give you some back ground information which we hope will make things clearer….
EAL (EMTA Awards Limited) offer high quality qualifications and technical expertise for a number of sectors, they include engineering, building services, energy and utilies, logistics and operations and environmental technologies. EAL are formally recognised as a QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) submitting body by Ofqual.
With more than 40 years experience in developing vocational qualifications, EAL are committed to service excellence, to further support this they were recently ranked first for customer service amongst its peers in its Customer Satisfaction Survey for both 2006 and 2008. EAL continually strives to improve on this by fostering collaborative relationships with employers, training providers and colleges
EAL is currently the leading awarding organisation for the engineering industry, at present they award over 70% of all vocational qualifications in this field.
EAL are presenting their qualifications as a challenge to the well established awarding body, City and Guilds, qualifications offered are of an equivalent level so following the EAL route into the plumbing industry is perfectly acceptable and valid way to become a qualified plumber.
The above information is just a small reason why the Plumbing College are so pleased to be able to offer our successful students an EAL qualification. Following completion of their plumbing course students will achieve an EAL Level 1 Certificate in Domestic Plumbing (Engineering and Technology) 501/0386/6.
Should you wish to find out more information on EAL or the plumbing courses we offer, please do not hesitate to contact our Student Support Team on 0800 032 2452 or email for more information.
