What learning style best suits you?

Here at the Plumbing College we pride ourselves on the flexibility that’s offered to each student who enrols on one of our plumbing courses.  Each student will have the opportunity to study using a number of different learning styles to help them get the most from their period of study.  So which learning style suits you best?

There are three commonly recognised learning styles which are VISUAL, AUDITORY and KINESTHETIC. Although students tend to learn using a mixture of different styles it is estimated that 20% of people favour one learning style above the others.

Visual

Visual learners absorb information best by seeing it, for these students sight is the most important sense for learning new information.   Often a visual learner would prefer to read books and for this reason they would benefit from the Plumbing College’s specifically written course books.  The materials have been designed for a wide range of students including those with no previous plumbing knowledge.  Visual learners would also benefit from our interactive e-learning programme which students will be given access to once enrolled on their plumbing course.

Auditory

Auditory learners learn information best by hearing it, they use this sense for learning new information more so than sight or touch this makes them more attuned to sounds.  The recent introduction of the Plumbing College’s interactive e-learning plumbing programme will not only enable students to learn using modern techniques but the narration of the programme will also help to simplify the process of understanding key concepts related to the plumbing industry. Students will also be able to practice and learn in their own time, at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home. This programme helps bridge the gap between theory and practical work.

Kinesthetic

Kinesthetic learners learn information best by actually carrying out a physical activity instead of just listening or observing.  They enjoy learning through ‘hands on methods’, experimenting and by first hand experiences.  Here at the Plumbing College, as well as the course books and the interactive e-learning programme, we offer students the opportunity to attend practical sessions at our purpose built training centre where they will be able to carry out numerous practical tasks during their plumbing course.  This will help reinforce the knowledge already gained through other elements of the course.

Please feel free to contact the Student Support team at the Plumbing College on 0800 032 2452 or info@plumbingcourse.org.uk if you would like anymore information regarding one of our plumbing courses.
